Cabin with the convenience of town but the outlook of the countryside.
Come stay in our self contained cabin right on the town boundary of Carterton. Quiet, clean, with a private garden area. Views to the hills, garden and orchard.
Basic kitchen facilties with fresh milk and tea / coffee, cutlery, plates, fridge, toaster etc. We can supply fresh free range eggs from the chickens and ducks if you let us know in advance. WiFi and TV.
Comfortable double bed with a 2 seater sofa that can fold out if required. Enjoy your freshly brewed coffee at the table on our patio area which is covered in oregano - a lovely smell released when you walk about on it!
Basic bathroom including toilet, shower and sink off the main area. Shampoo and conditioner included.
Off road parking which leads to your private pathway to the cabin. Contactless arrival as appropriate.
Rates & Availability
$99 for the first night for 2 people then $89 per subsequent nights. Reduced rates available for longer stays, please enquire. The fold out sofa probably really most suitable for young children; $10 extra per child for this.
Base sheet included on bed but otherwise bring your own bedding and towels. We can provide for an extra $5 per person if booked in advance.
Cleaning fee included as we need to verify a thorough clean between guests to minimise any Covid risks. Please sign in through our QR code on arrival or sign in manually in the guestbook.

Cancellation & Terms Of Stay Policy
Sickness: Please advise us so we can cancel if you have cold like symptoms or a Covid positive test.
Full refund minus a $10 admin fee if advised 2 days or more before booking commences. 50% refund if cancelled within 2 days of booking.
Maximum of 2 adults. 1 additional young child (under 12yrs) may be considered on discussion as space is limited for extra persons
Payment in advance of stay. Longer stays will require a deposit.
No additional stay(ers) outside of the cabin on the property without prior agreement.
Absolutely no pets - we have animals on site that won't care for them.
This is a no-smoking property.
Location & Surroundings
Sitting on the edge of Carterton, the cabin has fabulous views out to the Tauraruas to the west and the Eastern hills; you are in the heart of the Wairarapa. We are located on a quiet 5 acre rural lifestyle block with gardens, food forest and animals in the surrounding fields.
From here you can explore the many scenic reserves in the Wairarapa, (Holdsworth, Fensham, with Waiohine, and Patuna Gorge an absolute must for the more agile.) Enjoy the beauty of the area as it must have looked for the pioneers back in the early days of settlement.
Visit Greytown, with it's many boutique shops and cafes, (the favourite of Wellingtonians) where you can pick up momentoes of your trip of a lifetime, taking time to look around Cobblestones Museum to appreciate the journey of the early settlers.
Martinborough is also well worth a trip to sample the many local wines on offer before selecting your favourite to drink with your dinner. Another quaint town with boutique shops and cafe/restaurants serving delicacies for your delight.
Carterton itself offers many eateries, bars, cafes and takeaways to choose from. Orchard Bar, Balter, Page42 Cafe and Carterton Club to mention but a few. All within a 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk from the cabin.
The area is alive with festivals, agricultural shows, equine events, always something out of the ordinary to enjoy. New Zealand is a small country with a big heart but with so much to do - one visit is never enough!
